The annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) on Sept. 29, 2013 features over 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus various exciting automotive aftermarket products. The theme for this year’s largest outdoor new car Auto Show is “Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary.”

NUIAS General Chair Adam LaFurgey states, “This year’s theme, ‘Cruising Through the Golden Anniversary,’ really focuses on the significance of this milestone event. We want to celebrate the past, present and future of the show and honor all of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the students who have invested their talent into making this show such a success. This is a very special show for many people and we want to make it one to remember.”

With approximately 50,000 guests annually, the NUIAS is an event for the entire family. Vice chair of operations, Chelsea Shartle, comments, “This year we are not only celebrating the 50th anniversary of the suto show but also acknowledging how far the industry has come over the past five decades. In the 21st century, vehicles are a part of our everyday lives. The show creates an enjoyable experience for our guests to see a variety of manufacturers and vehicles in one location without sales pressure.” Throughout the three-day event attendees indulge themselves in the vehicles of the future as well as reminisce with the vehicles of yesterday.

The event, which includes a Classic Car Show on Sunday, Sept. 29, is organized and executed by the students of Northwood University. The Auto Show will be held the weekend of September 27 to 29 on the Michigan Campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland.
