Some owners of 2019-2020 Mazda CX-5 vehicles equipped with a 2.5T engine and produced before July 7, 2020, may experience a squeaking noise that can be heard from the exhaust manifold when the idle speed drops from fast idle to normal idle speed during a cold start.
This is caused by a variable valve being stuck in the closed position. When returning from fast to normal idle, the stuck valve suddenly opens due to thermal change. To eliminate this concern, the internal design of the exhaust manifold has been modified.
Replace the exhaust manifold with an improved part according to the instructions in MGSS using P/N PY8V-13-450K. You will also need manifold gasket PY8V-13-460C, turbo gasket PY8V-13-710B, six exhaust manifold nuts P/N SH01-13-465, gasket PY88-13-490, five nuts PY88-465A, gasket PE23-40-305 and two nuts P/N 9994-61-000.
